Briggs True Texas Sauces & Seasonings (Fried Chicken Recipe)

One thing that I love is a challenge when it comes to cooking. Recently Bubba asked why I never make fried chicken for dinner. So I thought why not take a chance at it and surprisingly it came out pretty good so I thought I would share the recipe with you. I also want to share my secret ingredient with you that I used to give my chicken a great flavor. I recently received some wonderful stuff from Briggs True for my Holiday Gift Guide. I got the Texas Seasoning & Rub, Texas Mustard Sauce and the Strawberry Habanero Jelly.

                                                                        What You Need:
3 pounds fryer chicken cut up
2 eggs
1 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tabelspoon Texas Seasoning & Rub
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 cup flour
2 cups oil ( I use canola)

What You Do:
Rinse the chicken pieces with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, along with the salt and pepper. Soak the chicken in the milk and egg mixture for 5 to 10 minutes.
Combine the flour, Texas Seasoning and seasoned salt in a large zip-top plastic bag. Add the chicken pieces, a couple at a time, shake to coat completely in the flour. Shake off any excess and set the chicken on a rack to dry.
Pour your oil into a deep skillet or deep fryer and heat it up to 350*F. Add the chicken pieces but do not overcrowd your skillet or deep fryer. Cook the chicken pieces, turning once, and then continue cooking until pieces are golden brown and cooked through (165*F). Drain on a paper towel and serve with your favorite sides!
