It's time to grab some popcorn, your favorite snack and a drink along with all the kids for a family movie night. The Star is being released TODAY on DVD, Digital and Blu-Ray! My family got the privilege to review the DVD before it was released. Somehow we missed this wonderful movie while it was in the theater, but I am super excited to own it for my family.
The Star movie is about a small but brave donkey named Bo who yearns for a life beyond his daily grind in the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a loveable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the greatest story ever told - the first Christmas.
My kids have been enjoying watching Bo and cheering him on throughout the movie. I like the twist the put on the story to show it through the donkey's eyes on the events and what happened. It shows the doubt that we all experience on whether we are really the right person to be called by the Lord to do His will. It reminds us no matter who we are we all can be called to do the Lords work for Him.
If you would like to print some coloring pages for you kids to enjoy coloring before or after the movie you can get them here. I also have left a link for some crafts and recipes as well you can do with your family.
