Since the weather has cooled off here in Ohio the past few days it got me thinking it is about time for some delicious soups. Since we were at a Cross Country race last night I had cooked a big ham to have for dinner when we got. Which meant I had leftover ham to use so I decided to make Ham & Bean for dinner today. I will say if you cook a ham be sure to save your ham juice to use in this soup!
Ingredients for Ham & Bean Soup:
Leftover ham (cut up)
3 carrots peeled and cut
1 pkg of Great Northern Beans
3 cups water
Leftover Ham Juice (if you don't have this use 3 cups chicken broth)
Directions for Ham & Bean Soup:
First rinse your beans! Then add all ingredients to the crock-pot, stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours. I usually serve my soup with a side or cornbread.
ENJOY!
