Hip-Hop Lollipop by Susan McElroy Montanari and Illustrated by Brian Pinkney is a playful bedtime read aloud story with rhythm and rhymes.
Read aloud with your child as Lolli the main character of the book dances, jumps, and snaps her way through her bedtime routine.
I had the opportunity to review Hip-Hop Lollipop. My oldest daughter loves to read books, and we are always looking to add different books to her stash, so we were excited to receive this book. We both sat down and read this one together. As we are reading the pages of the story, it really comes to life with the hip hop fun! It's as if you're moving and grooving side by side with Lolli and her hip-hop dancing moves. Each page draws your attention and makes you want to dance along.
As you come to the end of the book, Lolli is finally in bed... The tone of reading gets softer, as Lolli's boom box gets quieter, SHHH, Lolli falls into dreamland still dancing hip-hop. zZz
My daughter and I really enjoyed reading the story and looking at all the illustrations of this book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to dance or someone looking for a great children's book! It would be a great addition to your child's book stash! It would also make a great gift this Holiday Season!
