Welcome to Crock pot Thursdays by Andersons Angels and The More The Merrier. This is a blog hop for and about delicious Crock Pot Recipes! We are hoping that this hop will help all you busy moms with getting yummy dinners on the table for your families without having to spend a ton of time in the kitchen. This week I am sharing with you my recipe for Turkey Chili. My recipe is coming from the American Girl Cooking book.
2 lb ground turkey
1 can crushed tomatoes (14 1/2oz)
2 can kidney beans (can be dark or light)
1/2 sm yellow onion chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth (low-sodium)
1 red or green bell pepper
2 Tbs olive oil
1/4 cup mild chili powder
salt & pepper to taste
What To Do:
While the meat is cooking diced up your bell pepper
add your olive oil to a skillet over medium-high heat and add your bell peppers and onion cook for about 7 minutes. Add your meat and cook, and then add all the remaining ingredients to the CrockPot along with your meat.
Cook on low 4-6 hours.
Top with your favorites:
Cheese, sliced green onions, sour cream, oyster crackers
The American Girl Cooking book offers a variety of delicious recipes for snacks, meals and more. Sweet Pea is going to love this book as she gets older and is able to start doing more with cooking. For now we will be working together on the easier recipes for her. But this book makes a great gift for older girls who are able and interested in cooking.
