Do It Yourself Sugar Scrub

I love how my skin feels after I use a sugar scrub on it. I do not however like the price of most sugar scrubs. I am also weary of buying them because I do not know what all is being put in them (chemical wise). When I started my new journey with Young Living Essential Oils it opened the doors for me to be able to make my own beauty and cleaning supplies. The first thing I made was a sugar scrub and I love it and how easy it is to make.

Sneaky Blends Cookbook

*This post contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, you'll be helping to feed the little angels here at Snowbirds to Seashores.

I am all about eating and being healthy. The only problem I really have with that is, the food I do not like is kale, broccoli, spinach which are pretty much what is good for you. I have the Sneaky Chef book which tells you how to sneak healthy ingredients into foods and the kids do not even know they are eating healthy. The kids could not tell that they were eating the healthy foods and they could not taste it so I decided to try it for myself. This book is by the same author so I knew it would be great. I received the Sneaky Blends book by Missy Chase Lapine.

How Do You Say Goodnight?

I recently received the opportunity to review an adorable bedtime book with the kids titled How Do You Say Good Night? I quickly feel in love with this adorable book and have been enjoying reading it with the little ones before bed. I am not sure about you but we love to read a good story and cuddle before bed. I think it creates wonderful lasting memories not only for me and Mr. Anderson but also for the kids. It also enhances their love for books.

I know that my girls are always creating new and interesting things to share with the family. If you have a young lady like mine then you will definitely want to look into the RoseArt Creative Café Barista Bar for Christmas!

Local Hive Honey and Recipe

One thing that my family loves in honey. Since my oldest is a beekeeper we know the importance of taking care of the honeybee population. We also know the benefits of eating raw honey. We use it on almost a daily basis in our home. My family was very excited when they learned I would be receiving some Raw Honey from other states. They wanted to compare it to our honey and see which their favorite would be.

TinyB Chocolate

I am not sure about you but I love a good piece of chocolate. In my house I have to hide my chocolate otherwise the kids devour it within minutes. When I received a box of tinyB Chocolate for review I put it up where the kids could not get to it. I have to say that I can be very picky when it comes to chocolate. I think it is because I worked at a chocolate factory for awhile and their chocolate is just amazing.

23 Kitchen Tips & Tricks

So I am always finding new little tricks to help me in the kitchen and I wanted to share some with you. I have a list of 23 Kitchen Tips for you below. If you try and any let me know how they work for you or if you have a tip feel free to leave it in a comment.

FRITTER AWAY(recipe)Got zucchini? Make fritters! The key to making them crispy is to first lightly salt the coarsely grated vegetable and set aside in a colander to drain for 15 minutes. Then wrap it up in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze firmly to expel as much liquid as possible.

KERNEL KEEPER: An easy way to prevent corn from going everywhere when you are cutting it off the cob is to use a Bundt pan. Place the cob in the center, standing it up on the protrusion, and cut downward so the kernels tumble directly into the pan.

JAVA JUICE: For the ultimate iced coffee, brew several cups of your favorite blend and sweeten to taste with condensed milk. Cool, then pour into ice cube trays (silicone are the easiest) and freeze overnight. Use these to chill your iced coffee and they will only enhance, never dilute.

TOMATO TIME: Prolong the life and enhance the flavor of ripe tomatoes by keeping them at room temperature rather than in the fridge. Always store them stem end down. This prevents air from entering - through the cut stem. If possible, eat them within 2 days.

SUMMER, CUBED: (recipePreserve fresh herbs, such as thyme, chives, and rosemary, by chopping them finely and packing them into an ice cube tray. Top up with olive oil, then cover with plastic wrap and freeze. The cubes dissolve easily into sauces and provide bright flavor all year long.

Take Your Chicken To the Grill

One thing that I love is eating grilled foods in the summer time. It helps keep my house cool because I do not have to turn on my oven to cook. Instead I get everything prepared and send it out to Mr. Anderson at the grill.  I also love finding new and delicious recipes for him to try out on the grill.  But now thanks to Cave Tools we are grilling out all the time and everything is coming out delicious!

A Honey Pot even Pooh would Love

One thing that I love to do for the Holiday's is bake. I bake for my children, family and friends and everyone seems to have a different thing I make that is their favorite. So when the Holiday's come around I usually spend days on end in the kitchen making everyone's favorites. But as long as everyone leaves happy because they got their favorites is all the thanks I need. I love to see everyone happy and enjoying their favorite baked treats.

One thing that I love is eating fresh vegetables especially ones from my in-laws garden. I also love finding new and delicious recipes to use them in as well. I am not sure why but my family had never really grilled our veggies. But now thanks to Cave Tools we are grilling our veggies as well and they are delicious!

I am always looking for ways to kick up my cooking and add some new delicious flavors to my meals. Recently I received a TABASCO Large Gift Box set to review with my family. I do not typically use hot sauce in my cooking unless it is call for in the recipe because I can not handle spicy foods. But I am always willing to try something new as well and since I got the Gift Box it had several different flavors for me and my family to try out other then just the normal Hot.

Giusto Sapore

With the Holidays quickly approaching it has me starting to think about the get togethers and the food that will be served.  Anyone that knows me knows that I love to be a hostess and entertain people. My mother in law says that one of my "gifts" is hosting/entertaining people. When it comes to my parties rarely will you see store bought pre-made food on the tables. I love to cook and create delicious foods to share with my family and friends. This year Giusto Sapore will be helping me creating those delicious foods to be served.

Watcharee Sauce

My husband loves Thai food. I have never tried it. I was given 4 jars of Thai sauce from Watcharee to try and they were delicious. I have to admit, I had no idea what to cook with it. Well, I was in luck. I got onto the website and they have recipes for each of the sauces. We love chicken so I was in luck when I found the recipe for Chicken Massaman Curry. If I knew this is what Thai food was like, I would have tried it sooner.

I know a lot of people lately have been looking for ways to help treat ailments without needing prescription medicine. I know personally I am the type of person who hates taking medicine for anything. I think there are more natural (holistic) ways to take care of our bodies. There are ways to heal our bodies and minds without using prescription drugs. If you think back to the beginnings they used plants and herbs as medicine and had success. I know not every ailment can be treated without prescriptions so please consult a doctor before doing anything. You can work with your doctor or a holistic doctor  to make sure you are getting what you need.
