One thing that my family loves in honey. Since my oldest is a beekeeper we know the importance of taking care of the honeybee population. We also know the benefits of eating raw honey. We use it on almost a daily basis in our home. My family was very excited when they learned I would be receiving some Raw Honey from other states. They wanted to compare it to our honey and see which their favorite would be.

I am not sure about you but I love a good piece of chocolate. In my house I have to hide my chocolate otherwise the kids devour it within minutes. When I received a box of tinyB Chocolate for review I put it up where the kids could not get to it. I have to say that I can be very picky when it comes to chocolate. I think it is because I worked at a chocolate factory for awhile and their chocolate is just amazing.

One thing that I love to do in my home is cook as I am sure most of you know by now. I am always looking for new spices to use in my dinners. I love creating new flavors by using different types of spices in my daily cooking. I love that adding a new spice can turn your normal meal into something new and exciting. White Bean Chicken Chili with Keystone Meat

I love finding products that I can use in my cooking that will help make my cooking routine a bit simpler and quicker. I am very picky though when it comes to the meats that I use in dinners for my family. I try to only use natural meats for my family meals which I get from the local meat market. Recently received some Keystone All Natural Chicken to use to make my family a delicious meal. I will be sharing my recipe for White Bean Chicken Chili below with you.

I was very pleased with the Keystone meats that I was sent to try out with my family. I really liked that there are only 2 ingredients in the canned meats. Ingredients are just chicken and sea salt, so there is no guessing what something is that is being used.  I don't know about you but I want to know what I am feeding my family.

Don't worry no real porcupines were used for this dinner.

Delicious Ham & Bean Soup ~ Crock-Pot Recipe

 

Since the weather has cooled off here in Ohio the past few days it got me thinking it is about time for some delicious soups. Since we were at a Cross Country race last night I had cooked a big ham to have for dinner when we got. Which meant I had leftover ham to use so I decided to make Ham & Bean for dinner today. I will say if you cook a ham be sure to save your ham juice to use in this soup!

Shredded Honey Garlic Pork with Fried Rice Crock-Pot Recipe

 

I have become burned out on cooking the same old stuff all the time and even my kids have started asking to try new foods. A couple weeks ago I tried my hand at making homemade Hibachi  style Chicken and Fried Rice and it was a hit. So I thought I would try to some more recipes that are similar at home and I must say that I was terrified that I would mess things up completely. Since it was not a epic fail instead a triumph I am sharing my recipes with you and I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.

Black Raspberry Braided Bread (Bread Machine Recipe)

 One of my favorite things to make come summer is my Black Raspberry Braided Bread. It has quickly become a favorite among my family and friends as well. This year we did a fundraiser with the bread to help Bubba earn the money he needed to go to camp with our Youth Group. You need a bread machine to make the dough portion of this recipe. My hand is next to the bread so you can see how large one loaf is.

Yum Yum Sauce (Japanese White Sauce)

 

Last night I made Hibachi Chicken and Fried Rice for dinner. It was a huge hit with the family and you can find the recipe here on the blog. Today I wanted to share the recipe I used to make the Japanese White Sauce known as Yum Yum Sauce. It is a very simple and easy sauce to make that I will probably be making a lot now as my kids loved it! They even said they want it just to dip veggies in instead of Ranch.  

Ingredients for Yum Yum Sauce:

1 1/4 cups Mayonnaise (real stuff not Miracle Whip)

1/4 cup water

1 tsp ketchup

1 Tbsp melted butter

1 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp seasoning salt

Directions for Yum Yum Sauce:

Combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl and refrigerate until you are ready to eat dinner. I made mine up about 1/2 hour before dinner and put it in the fridge until dinner was ready.

ENJOY!!

So I thought I would try to fix some at home and I must say that I was terrified that I would mess it completely up. Since it was not a epic fail instead a triumph I am sharing the recipes with you and I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.

23 Kitchen Tips & Tricks

 

So I am always finding new little tricks to help me in the kitchen and I wanted to share some with you. I have a list of 23 Kitchen Tips for you below. If you try and any let me know how they work for you or if you have a tip feel free to leave it in a comment.

FRITTER AWAY: (recipe)Got zucchini? Make fritters! The key to making them crispy is to first lightly salt the coarsely grated vegetable and set aside in a colander to drain for 15 minutes. Then wrap it up in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze firmly to expel as much liquid as possible.

KERNEL KEEPER: An easy way to prevent corn from going everywhere when you are cutting it off the cob is to use a Bundt pan. Place the cob in the center, standing it up on the protrusion, and cut downward so the kernels tumble directly into the pan.

JAVA JUICE: For the ultimate iced coffee, brew several cups of your favorite blend and sweeten to taste with condensed milk. Cool, then pour into ice cube trays (silicone are the easiest) and freeze overnight. Use these to chill your iced coffee and they will only enhance, never dilute.

TOMATO TIME: Prolong the life and enhance the flavor of ripe tomatoes by keeping them at room temperature rather than in the fridge. Always store them stem end down. This prevents air from entering - through the cut stem. If possible, eat them within 2 days.

SUMMER, CUBED: (recipe) Preserve fresh herbs, such as thyme, chives, and rosemary, by chopping them finely and packing them into an ice cube tray. Top up with olive oil, then cover with plastic wrap and freeze. The cubes dissolve easily into sauces and provide bright flavor all year long.

2018 4H County Judging

 

With technology taking over it seems like most parents have a hard time getting their kids outside and active. One way that our family has found to get the kids outside and active is with our local 4H. The kids have been participating now for a family total of 8 years! And it has been one of the best decisions I ever made with my children. They are learning some great skills that will help them in the future and in their future careers.

With Summer in full swing it is our job as parents to make sure that our children do not lose the knowledge they learned over the past school year. One thing that I love is eating grilled foods in the summer time. It helps keep my house cool because I do not have to turn on my oven to cook. Create the Perfect Hamburger Everytime

One thing that I love is eating a delicious fresh grilled hamburger. I also love creating new and delicious hamburger recipes as well for my family to enjoy.
